Movecat was introducing visitors to several new products at this year’s Prolight + Sound. Much of the attention was focussed on the new PROstage 1000 D8/D8 Plus chain hoist, with its outstanding unladen weight to load-bearing capacity ratio. It weighs 60.8 kg is capable of moving a load of one metric ton at a speed of 4 m/min.
A new feature is the D-Type special chain, which boasts an 8% greater load-bearing capacity than standard chains, and despite its exceptionally compact dimensions achieves a static chain safety factor of 8:1.
A further industry innovation is the PROStage+’s integrated, digital operating hours counter, which is capable of keeping track of operating hours automatically during operation. The user can read without difficulty from the battery-powered LC display – even in idle mode – not only the number of elapsed operating hours but also the remaining service life for different load collectives.
The new PROStage+ 1000 D8 Plus has an unladen weight of 60.8 kg and is capable of moving a 1 metric ton load at a speed of 4 m/min. The PROStage+ 1000 offers hoisting heights of 18 or 24 metres. Optionally, the hoisting height can be extended to up to 60 metres.
The hoist can be used in climbing or standard installation positions without conversion. It is equipped with maintenance-free brakes, an integrated operating hours counter, a high-tensile Movecat D-Type Special Chain and a flame-resistant textile chain bag. 400 V AC direct control (DV control) is currently supported with a low-voltage control version (LV Control) in preparation.
Thanks to its modular design, it can be optionally equipped with LME load-measuring eyebolts for integrated overload monitoring, gear limit switches, incremental or absolute encoders, and temperature monitoring.
For the first time at a German trade fair, Movecat was showing the Vario Mini Winch, a compact DMX winch for use in lighting and media installations that also supports DMX 512 controlled onstage applications. With it DMX-controllable objects of up to 5 kg dead weight can be moved fully dynamically in the room from 0 to 700 mm per second and positioned precisely to +/- 1 mm (DMX 512-16 bit). The hybrid lifting tackle allows the suspended objects simultaneously to be supplied with power (24 VDC) and controlled via DMX. This small winch complies in full with DGUV V17 (BGV C1) and is suitable for the moving of loads on stage over people’s heads.
With fixed installations in mind, Movecat offers the Expert-T III I-Motion system controller on a Motion Trolley. The mobile base is designed in such a way that the rubber feet of the controller slot into the trolley frame without any need for further conversion. This guarantees, on the one hand, a secure mount, and, on the other, sufficient flexibility to allow the Expert-T III to be used also at any time on a table or in a rack. The Motion Trolley is equipped with five swivelling castors (two castors with a parking brake) and a remote controlled lifting column that allows the trolley to be raised or lowered to heights continuously variable from 626 mm to 926 mm. This means that users can operate all keyboards, hot keys, joysticks, trackballs and touch screens in comfort and efficiently from either a standing or a sitting position. Two additional cable holders are provided at the rear.
