LoCo_R3_RFwebAlready in the run-up to the Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt, insiders were speculating about further developments to Movecat’s Load Control Receiver range, and, sure enough, come the fair, these were presented to the industry. The LoCo series constitute the most highly developed offerings yet in the load-control segment from the specialists in kinetic solutions. With new products such as these, Movecat is aiming to expand considerably its export business, according to Andrew Abele, the company’s CEO.

The LoCo R3 models R3DX and R3RF are ideally suited to the supervision of complex load systems. The receivers can interpret, display visually and compile data from a maximum of 48 load-measuring sensors – up to 12 of them analogue. The R3RF model is equipped with two integrated transceiver modules employing the 868 MHz ISM band and can process the data from a maximum of 48 sensors also in wireless mode.

To meet the highest safety standards, the R3 models boast a microcontroller safety unit in accordance with EN 13849-1 that provides for the evaluation of the signals and the supervised implementation of safety-relevant external signals. This assures direct circuit integration into hoist systems or machine controllers for which Stop Category 0 safety shutdown is required. A variety of potential-free relay outputs are available as well as 24 V DC outputs for a traffic-light module or warning signal generator.

Furthermore, by means of DIG-Link up to four R3 receivers can be combined in a load-measuring network, which means up to 192 sensors can be employed. Via the tried-and-tested M-Link system, direct integration into Movecat MPC E-, I- and T-series controller networks is possible. The stipulations of igvw SQ P2 for the avoidance of overload conditions in the case of indeterminate load systems are therefore complied with in full.

A central PC connected via USB 2.0 or UDP be used for the visualisation and evaluation of the data. The LoCo R3 Load Measurement Controller is an independent function unit equipped with a 4.3″ RGB touch screen, a navigation unit combined with a rotary/push-button encoder and two function keys for the input of data and status LEDs on the front and rear. A keyboard, mouse and trackball can be supplied as options. In the case of the two R3 models, mixed operation is also possible.

The R3 receivers are ready for web server operation. Data can also be transmitted to tablets and smartphones without the need for external apps.
