Christmas donation from Movecat facilitates recycling process at GWW

WeihnachtsspendewebMovecat of Nufringen, one of the leading manufacturers worldwide in the field of modular scalable stage kinetics, has once again this year made a Christmas donation in support of the Charity Workshops of the GWW. The institute in Herrenberg offers the mentally ill as well as the mentally and/or physically handicapped an opportunity to enter the labour market and eliminate almost entirely their reliance upon others. For the facility, three large mobile containers, in which old packaging and waste paper can be collected, were purchased and placed in front of the opening of the shredder. The shredded matter becomes the raw material for Karopack padded cushions, which provide an eco-friendly way of packing goods of all kinds. This creates a closed production cycle that meets in full the recycling objectives.

Movecat CEO Andrew Abele and Marketing Manager Angelika Dallmann handed over the gift in person to Andreas Galsterer, Project Manager, and Peter Eßlinger, Regional Manager Herrenberg, at the workshops on 6 December 2016. The GWW – Gemeinnützige Werkstätten und Wohnstätten (Charitable Workshops and Residences) GmbH – is a joint initiative in which 17 organizations, including urban and municipal councils and associations for the handicapped, are involved. The workshops and residences enable handicapped individuals in the districts of Böblingen and Calw to participate more fully in society. Over 1,000 handicapped persons are currently employed in the GWW workshops, producing goods for a wide variety of industrial sectors.
