High honours for Movecat technology: this year, the Movecat chain hoist PLUS and PLUSlite 1000-4 was named Product of the Year at the PMA Awards 2014. The nominations having been made by an expert jury, the final destination of the awards was determined by online voting.
With its D8 Plus chain hoist, Movecat is satisfying the oft-expressed wish of many users for a single-fall chain hoist with a load-bearing capacity of 1,000 kg and hoisting speed of 4 m/min. Thanks to its compact cast aluminium housing, 9×27 load chain, two robust handles and total weight of only 115 kg, the new chain hoist is especially suitable for day-to-day touring and rental applications. Above all when used as a climbing hoist in combination with the Movecat Case, which was developed in close cooperation with users, ideal operation is guaranteed, as the chain-hoist can climb and retract independently, drawing its power from the case. „We would like to thank our users for their loyalty and for voting in this online poll,“ said Andrew Abele, Movecat’s managing director.
There was cause elsewhere, too, for celebration in the Movecat ranks at the PMA Awards. Several projects to which Movecat’s know-how and products had made a significant contribution were distinguished: the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmo in the Touring/Live category, the presentation of the new S-Class from Mercedes-Benz at the IAA in Frankfurt in the Industrial/Corporate Event category and the production of The Little Match Girl at the Ruhrtriennale festival. Last but not least came indirect recognition for Movecat, as Megaforce, whose takeover of the brand Magic Sky was named „News Story of the Year“, and Movecat have a long association, the Megaforce stage construction team and Movecat having for years collaborated closely in the implementation of events.
